How qualified of a trauma therapist are you?
I have been a full time therapist for 20 years. I have trained with prominent psychiatrists, therapists, major hospitals, TCU, and the Yale Reach Institute. This has given me certifications in many different ways of doing therapy and experience with people who have complex trauma, multiple diagnoses, and need an experienced and gentle touch.
I am able to make detailed and personalized treatment plans that fit you, not just a symptom. My clients are very important to me and I will always treat you with the utmost care and attention. I blend strong clinical skills with a genuinely empathetic and warm approach. Because I am an independent practice you will not be changing clinicians every few months and my standards of quality care will always be upheld.
How Do You Treat Children?
Treating children starts by involving their parent. I will ask you questions about your child and your family better understand what is happening in the world and set goals. Depending on the age of your child I may use games as a way to make them comfortable while we talk, may use art therapy techniques to communicate, or use play as a language to express themselves and rehearse different ways of understanding the world and coping with challenges. I will always involve you in their care and discuss ways to support their learning and growth at home. Generally, the younger the child the more play techniques I will use.

I prioritize your privacy and security. I use HIPAA-compliant platforms for video conferences and secure messaging. Rest assured, all your therapy sessions are private. Your personal information will be safeguarded and you can receive care wherever you are in Texas. Please see my notice of privacy practices for more information.
How will you know how to help me?
At the start of our therapeutic journey, we’ll conduct a thorough initial evaluation. During this session, we’ll discuss your symptoms, strengths, goals, and your preferred communication styles. Together, we’ll craft a treatment plan drawing from my extensive 20 years of experience in addressing similar challenges and utilizing evidence-based practices. Our collaborative approach ensures that your therapy is tailored to your unique needs. I offer therapy for anxiety, stress, and trauma but also have experience with several other disorders.
How can I use my insurance?
I am in network with several plans including Cigna, Aetna, Optum, United and others and will submit billing for you. If you are private paying can get a superbill to submit to your insurance to access out of network benefits or use Thrizer which helps with out of network billing. Check your insurance plan to see what percentage they pay for out of network visits.
What if I have been in therapy before?
We can start with what has worked for you already and build from there. If you have struggled to find help in therapy before you might need something different than what you have done before. I have a flexible style and am able to adapt therapy for theories and practices that work best for you. Because I am cross trained in short and long term therapies I am able to offer you new options.
Can you prescribe medication?
I cannot prescribe medication but can refer you to a physician if you would like this. Trauma therapy is often most effective when paired with appropriate medication. I am used to working closely with psychiatrists and can help you decide if it is time to make a referral to a physician for medication management.
Are you looking for clinical supervision?
I am an LCSW-S and offer group and individual supervision to obtain your LCSW. I have 20 years of experience in inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment. Group therapy is one of my specialties so if you would like to learn new tools for groups I am the supervisor for you!
